    The Global Chamber® San Francisco is thrilled to announce two new Envoys, Veronica Li and Ville Vanhala. Both will be working closely with Executive Director Henry Ines to grow the local chapter and help deliver outstanding events and activities for our members and affiliates in the San Francisco Bay area.

    Veronica Li: Veronica has more than 8 years of experience working in the Internet industry and has significant background in product strategy, marketing and sales. While in China, she worked at eBay, Tencent, Baidu and Cheetah Mobile, covering e-commerce, social media, search engine and mobile strategy. Her achievements include the Wechat launch, top sales at Baidu, and working as the National Sales Director for Cheetah Mobile. Veronica has an MBA degree from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business, and a Bachelor's degree from the Shanghai University of International Business & Economics.

     

    Ville Vanhala: Ville is a business development professional from Finland. He started his career at the age of 13 by picking strawberries in an effort to earn a Nokia phone to impress his first girlfriend. Since then, he has worked with several international companies like Hewlett Packard and Management Events. Currently, he leads a startup in Silicon Valley. He has worked and lead international teams in 6 different countries and 4 different continents. His interpersonal skills are one of his greatest assets. In 2009, he authored an article on emotional intelligence. Ville has a master's degree in International Business from the Hult International Business School in both San Francisco and Dubai, UAE.

    Global Chamber® San Francisco, in collaboration with the Silicon Valley Institute (SVI), plans to develop professional training and immersion programs to be held in the San Francisco Bay Area. SVI, an educational organization committed to designing, organizing, and delivering effective and innovative educational programs, is led by Cathy Chang, who previously developed and organized innovative programs at the University of California Berkeley Extension and at the University of San Francisco School of Management.

    Global Chamber® San Francisco was proud to collaborate with SVIEF on the 2016 Smart Devices Summit in January 2016.  The event culminated with the SVIEF-Star Demo Day and the recognition of 10 rising startups in the space to include the CES2016 Innovation Award Winner, . Others recognized include Ario Smart Lamp, Butterfleye Smart Home Monitoring Camera, and EcoMo Smart Water Analyzer and Purifier.

    SVIEF is accepting applications  for the 1st Innovation Competition of International Talents, to be held on March 27, 2016 in Santa Clara, CA. The global competition, organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Govt., will provide a total cash prize of $800k+, govt. incentives of $100M, and access to a VC fund pool of $100M.
